The Fighting Armadillo
26" X 15" X 2" deep, commissioned / SOLD
enamel paint on discarded steel

This artwork was one of three created for the Armadillo Crossing restaurant in Belmar NJ. The owner decided not to use this piece in fear the "Hitler" reference might offend some patrons. The artwork is a parody of W.W.II Bomber Nose Art. Styles cites nose art as an influence on his work today. "Same materials and cartoonish style...." In fact this summer Styles will be working on a series of Bomber Nose Art done on auto parts. Look for a little more of a social / political commentary in his future work. Probally some retro pin up work too.
